New PS5 Pulse Headsets Announced By PlayStation

PlayStation has just announced that the Pulse headset family is getting two new members. The Pulse Wireless Headset and the Pulse Edge Wireless Headset, both are said to be coming towards the end of the year and into early 2027.

The announcement comes from PlayStation Blog where they share the news. These new headsets continue a lengthy line of Pulse related products from Sony.

The Pulse Wireless is looking like the standard option, whereas the Pulse Edge seems like the premium and higher-end version. Sony even lists a number of features the Edge has that the regular Pulse does not, so we can expect the Edge to carry a higher price tag.

These new headsets continue the trend of products Sony has developed this generation. It started with the Pulse 3D Wireless Headset, which introduced 3D audio to PS5. The Pulse Explore Earbuds came next, and had much of the same benefits, just this time in a case as individual earbuds as opposed to an over-ear headset.

Sony then added another installment to this list with the Pulse Elite Headset in 2024. This one was designed to be a luxury option. It had much more comfortable ear-muffs and a physical microphone stick that the others did not have, as the microphone on those was built in to the headset.

Sony shares both Pulse Wireless and Pulse Edge Wireless will ship in both regular white and midnight black colors. The exact release date and pricing was not announced, but we can expect to hear more soon.

It could be a good time for gamers to invest in a high-quality headset as major games like Grand Theft Auto VI and God of War Laufey are on the way, both which could benefit from a very high-end headset.

Sony is clearly all-in on their Pulse labeled products, and these two new installments continue what has been a successful trend for PlayStation, and with the major games on the way, now could be an excellent time to invest in a high-quality headset such as these.
