According to the new patch notes, Apex Legends Season 31 encourages Crypto to stick with his team and use his drone more aggressively rather than camping in it. Apex Legends Season 31 patch notes
How the Akimbo Wingman works in Apex Legends
In terms of the new Akimbo Wingman, it’s a close and mid-range weapon that players can find via ground loot or at heavy arsenal stations. It also uses Heavy Ammo plus Heavy Magazines and has a 45 base damage.
How Strongholds work in Apex Legends
Strongholds are a new addition to the game as well, and they’re new structures that airdrop onto the map in the middle of a match. These structures provide good cover and contain useful loot. However, in order to access them, players must capture them first.
Weapons, attachments, map rotation, ranked, and more
As for weapons and attachments this season, the L-Star is floor loot once again while the Akimbo Mozambique moves into the Care Package category with increased pellet damage, a tightened blast pattern, and a new Executioner Hop-Up. Meanwhile, the Hemlok returns with its original Burst and Single firing modes while the EVA-8 receives Disruptor Rounds. The Nemesis, Peacekeeper and Prowler also have various balance changes.
Next, Apex Legends Season 31 has 99 targeted quality-of-life fixes across the map rotation. This means improved movement, fixed collision issues, lighting and visibility improvements in E-District Night plus updates to Storm Point, Olympus, and World’s Edge.
Wild Cards, meanwhile, are now given to players through a selection menu at the beginning of Rounds 1, 2 and 3. Replicators are also no longer part of Wildcard.
Don’t forget about the legend banning system for those in rank Diamond and above, either. Other ranked updates pertain to the mode getting a new tab in the “Inventory” menu, points information on the kill feed, plus the Challenger Matches and Goliath Matches. These adjust entry costs when teams are significantly weaker or stronger than the lobby. Challenger Matches receive a 30% entry cost reduction while Goliath Matches receive a 50% increase.
